Evan and Ali’s Rainy Day Wedding in Mexico: Villa Planners Playa del Carmen
Stunning couple Evan and Ali showed us that rain on your wedding day is nothing when you are madly in love. The Texas lovebirds lit up the garden of Villa la Joya with their glowing faces and smooth moves on the dance floor. The modern tropical decor with exquisite florals and details is sure to inspire, let’s have a look at this rainy day wedding in Playa del Carmen.
Gorge destination wedding fashion and stylish decor choices
Bride and groom Evan and Ali really took our breath away with their wedding looks. That dress, oh girl, that dress, that veil, just WOW and the groom's choice of a slick suit in maroon knocked us out. The guests of Evan and Ali came to the party with their finest fashion choices, this was one truly elegant group.
The ceremony set-up at Villa la Joya featured an arch of lush white roses by Cherry Blossom Florals, simple wooden chairs with cushions, and a tile floor that added a geometric element. Just one look at the faces of Evan and Ali as they exchanged vows and you’ll see pure amor.
The magic of the sky tents at Villa la Joya: Rain just adds romance
We know that for many brides, rain on your wedding day is your worst nightmare, particularly for outdoor weddings. Villa Planners is here to tell you that rain will NOT ruin your big day IF you’ve got the right wedding planners and vendors - wink -.
Evan and Ali were of course hoping for a bright sunshiny day. The rain meant we kicked Plan B into action, popping up the Sky Tents at Villa la Joya Playa del Carmen. These transparent tents that protect your guests from the elements while maintaining the view of palm trees and the ocean are wedding savers. Raindrops and twinkling lights and candles bring a special kind of magic as they glisten.
Words of wisdom from the bride: Go With the Flow
Communication with your wedding planners is key, before, during and even after your special day. We love to hear your ideas before and your reflections after, we learn something new with each wedding we plan. We asked the newlyweds a few questions about their experience in planning a destination wedding and we think you’ll find inspiration in their answers.
Why did you choose Mexico for your destination wedding?
We knew we wanted to have a smaller destination wedding and we absolutely adore Mexico. We love the culture, the food, the beaches and how quick it is to travel from Texas.
What made you decide on Villa La Joya Playa del Carmen and Villa Planners?
My sister came across Villa la Joya on social media and we immediately fell in love with it. The location was perfect for our guests spread across the states as well.
The reviews were great on Villa Planners and we figured they’d know the venue best and we’re so happy with our decision and beyond thankful for Nan. She was incredible!
What was your favorite/most emotional or funniest moment of your wedding day?
It’s difficult to pick one moment, but we both loved our first look when we read our vows to one another. This is when it all felt real and we couldn’t hold back the joyful tears.
What was your wedding theme or inspiration?
We went for a “clean” tropical look incorporating white, gold, black and green.
Anything you would have done differently?
We wouldn’t change a thing!
Any advice you’d like to share with other brides planning a destination wedding?
Try to stay in the moment! You’ll be going through your list of to do’s constantly, but trust your planner and be willing to go with the flow. It ended up raining on our wedding day and we had always pictured a bright sunny day for our special day, but dancing in the rain made the day even more memorable for us and our guests!
