Tara and Tyler met in medical school, and their story took a romantic turn when Tyler surprised Tara with a proposal in Mexico during her vacation with girlfriends. When it came time to plan their wedding, it only made sense to return to the country where their engagement began — and Villa la Joya was the perfect venue to bring everyone together.
Their Riviera Maya wedding day began with the bride and groom getting ready with loved ones, filled with excitement and happy energy. Tara appeared in a stunning pink lehenga for their emotional first look, showcasing the beauty of her Indian heritage. Tyler looked sharp in a beige suit, and their portraits before the ceremony were full of genuine connection and calm before the big moment.
Joyous Destination Wedding Ceremony at Villa la Joya Riviera Maya
Friends and family joined Tara and Tyler for their ceremony on the front steps of Villa la Joya. A lush floral arch in shades of pink created a beautiful contrast with the villa’s marble architecture, an elegant setting for the newlyweds to say “I do” in a ceremony full of joy and color.
The wedding party was super fashionable, the shades of pink in the traditional lehengas, the handsome groomsmen in their sharp suits, all came together for a most incredible look. The wedding portraits of the whole party are absolutely gorgeous, the photos show a LOT of smiling faces and laughter, this was a lively bunch!

Cocktail hour gave guests time to enjoy the views of the sea while the newlyweds and their attendants took time for the portrait shoot. The cocktail and reception setup was elegant and simple: clear vases with single pink blooms, bold hot pink servilletas, and white candles that gave the tables a soft glow as the sun set. Pops of color from the range of pink florals made for a celebratory setting.
The night was full of personal touches, including choreographed dances performed by loved ones and some touching toasts to the newlyweds. Tara made a big entrance after changing into a traditional white bridal gown for the reception, breathtaking!
