Villa la Joya wedding ceremony: Jenn and Matt say “I do!” in Mexico

Our favourite part of the day was the ceremony. We got married in front of the Villa because we liked the idea of separating it from the reception and cocktail space. Adriana and the rest of the Villa Planners team made sure the whole process for us and our wedding party was easy and relaxed so we were able to completely be present and enjoy the moment.

Jenn and Matt and their guests gathered together at the grand entrance of Villa la Joya to celebrate all kinds of love. Romantic love, family love, and the love of friends from near and far. Comfortable and pretty wooden chairs with pillows welcomed guests to have a seat to witness the ceremony and shower the newlyweds with support and good wishes.

The circular floral arch on the altar was absolutely stellar. A mix of roses and blooms and greens in a range of lovely colors, pink, white, orange, yellow, Pentaflor created a masterpiece, the perfect backdrop to love. The design of this arch just “clicked” with the architecture of the villa and the energy of the bride and groom.

We wanted to keep the wedding really simple and relaxed, and let the view of the ocean and Villa do most of the work. All we really wanted were a lot of bright, colourful flowers, great food and drinks, and good music.

Guests young and old (some serious baby cuteness going on at this wedding) were treated to an unforgettable wedding reception at Villa la Joya Playa del Carmen. The unique floral theme continued in the centerpieces on dark wood tables and that gorgeous arch from the ceremony was set behind the sweethearts table.

Newlyweds Jenn and Matt were toasted with champagne and tequila, laughter and tears. Family and friends danced the night away under the twinkling lights by the sea and Villa la Joya was filled with a joyous energy.

The party was on fire and we even got to see a little breakdancing, groomsmen style, Olympic level. An unforgettable celebration, the stories will be told for years to come about the night Jenn and Matt got married in Mexico.
